The Start

          Hi, my name is Taiye. I am a 21 year old college student from Glen Oaks and now the owner of Tblade (the high end clothing brand for the people). I have worked overnight at Home Depot, I’ve lifeguarded at the YMCA, and even lost a few bucks in the stock market. However, I was first introduced to entrepreneurship after seeing my friend run an empire selling snacks in high school with 3 employees and a duffle bag filled with Oreos and Honey Buns. From then on, I began starting my own businesses. I started a music production company in the storage closet at Lee High, a video production company for the Baton Rouge area, then a custom shoe business that made slides and custom air forces, and even a graphic design company called Tblade Visuals & Productions. Those businesses did well while they lasted; However, I believe they truly were the building blocks that prepared me to open what you see now. 

          I purchased the google domain for tblade.org on Dec 28, 2021. The very next day I pulled up my sleeves and began cleaning out the filthiest room in the house, which later became my official office for the brand. It was a small area with dirty walls and broken window blinds. But everyone has to start somewhere. I started Tblade because I was tired of going to the mall every month and seeing the same clothes that I didn’t want to wear and because I was tired of seeing people rock ugly clothes from one or two unnamed stores just because they were designer, and the clothes were expensive. Tblade has the latest high-end clothing that is stylish, motivational, and serves a purpose. Wearing a piece from Tblade is meant to encourage you to #DareToBeDifferent & to push yourself outside of your comfort zone just as I did when starting this brand. I have had a lot of road blacks starting up and I continue to have from time to time. As I type I am currently waiting on the state to send me my EIN number for the business and my main clothing supplier went out of business last month. However, I am/will continue to push to grow the company. Me and my team encourage you to read Romans 12:2 (a verse that encourages you to not be like this world; don’t be a follower, Be Different)! I have zero idea of how the company is doing at the time that you are reading this but prayerfully everything is continuing to grow to show that you also can start a business or pursue your dream and succeed.

The Present

I am currently setting up everything to prepare for our first launch in the fall.

The Future!

 

          As of right now I’m not totally sure what the future holds for this brand. But I do know I would like to continue to grow it and take you with me on the journey. I would like for us both to be able to look back and think “WOW'' look how far Tblade has come. I may decide to open a physical store so I can see you all in person one day; I would love to see the community of people that have been connected/brought together through the creation of this brand. However, it’s starting to look like everything is switching over to online, so we’ll see. No matter what I plan on growing the brand through hard work and education, inspiring others, and praying for success. #DareToBeDifferent
